TRAVELING

Travel with
Cross Exchange

Experience meaningful travel with purpose! Cross Exchange offers the unique opportunity to explore new places, immerse yourself in the culture, and contribute to the communities you visit. Whether you’re taking a gap year, looking for a short-term mission experience, or simply seeking to volunteer, our platform connects you with worldwide hosts who share a vision of service and spiritual growth.

STEP 1

Create Your Profile

Hosts will be interested to see who you are, where you're from, and why you're excited to travel! Taking your time in creating your profile will set you up for the most compatible matches with host homes. Building your profile can take as little as 15 minutes, but it’s best to not rush through this!

STEP 2

Connect with Hosts

Hosts around the world are seeking help with a wide range of activities, and they're happy to provide room and board in exchange for a set amount of help per week. Search by location or type of help sought. Send a personalized message to hosts you're interested in requesting to stay!

STEP 3

GET SET

Once you've made arrangements with a host (including the type of volunteering, dates of stay, and other details), pack your bags and prepare for your trip. Volunteers need to arrange their own transportation, so load up your car or secure a plane ticket for the journey ahead!

STEP 4

Go!

When you arrive at your host’s home, you get to live with them like you’re a member of their family. That’s why, except when agreed upon otherwise, hosts provide complimentary food and lodging. Host home not a good fit? No sweat – leave at anytime.

STEP 5

Live like a local

Most Cross Exchange hosts seek more than just an extra set of hands; they’re eager to share meals, connect with you, and make you feel at home in their city. Additionally, every host ensures that church services are accessible to their travelers, so you can worship and build community there as well.
